Our vehicle registration scanner recognizes the official formats of:
- France — Carte grise SIV (CIM) front/back, legacy formats included
- United Kingdom — V5C Vehicle Registration Document
- Switzerland — Permis de circulation (all cantonal versions)
- Belgium — Pink registration certificate
- Spain — Permiso de circulacion + Ficha tecnica
- Luxembourg — Registration certificate
A generic mode also handles registration documents from other EU countries.
How the Scanner Works
- Photograph the registration document with your smartphone or tablet — no app to install, everything runs in the browser.
- PaddleOCR (PP-OCRv4) extracts the text, and our engine parses fields based on the auto-detected country.
- The vehicle file is created with license plate, VIN, make, model, registration date, fiscal power, fuel type, weight, etc.
- You validate or correct fields at a glance. The vehicle is added to your database and linked to the client.
All processing happens offline, on your device. No image is sent to a third-party server.
License Plate Scanner Included Too
In addition to the registration scanner, MekaDesk includes a license plate OCR scanner based on Tesseract.js. Simply photograph a vehicle's plate to instantly retrieve its file and repair history — without typing a single character.
Useful at the counter when a walk-in client arrives: you immediately identify the vehicle and its previous visits to your garage.
